The Maghery Canal

The Maghery Canal in County Armagh is a short man-made cut from the River Blackwater to Lough Neagh. The Blackwater itsef enters Lough Neagh just below the cut, and between them the land cut off is known as Derrywarragh Island.

The canal is near the loughside village of Maghery, in County Armagh. The River Blackwater marks the border with Tyrone on its western bank.
