Lochbroom is a parish on the Atlantic coast of Wester Ross in both Ross-shire and Cromartyshire. It is situated 45 miles north-west of Dingwall and contains Ullapool as the only settlement of any appreciable size. This place derives its name from two considerable inlets, by which it is intersected for some miles towards the east: Loch Broom to the north and the smaller, or Little Loch Broom in the southern portion of the parish.

The parish comprehends the entirety of Cromartyshire detached parts Nos. 13, 14, 14a, 15, 16, 17, 18, most of No. 10 (otherwise in the parish of Kincardine) and a small part of No. 20 (otherwise in the parish of Contin).
