Little Somborne is a hamlet in Hampshire, a mile north-west of the largeer village, King's Somborne, to the west of Winchester. The village is two and a half miles south-east of its nearest town, Stockbridge, on the River Test to the west.

The village is on no major road, but the A3057 passes by under a mile to the west.

Little Somborne House is the grand house of the village: it is a small country house of the mid-18the century with an early 19th century addition. The house is a Grade II listed building.[1]

Church

Within the village is All Saints' Church, a redundant Church of England parish church of flint and rubble stone. It is a Grade II* listed building.[2] and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

The oldest parts of the church are Anglo-Saxon. It is recorded in the Domesday Book. The original church had a nave and a chancel, but in 1170 the chancel was removed, the nave was extended towards the east, and a very small chancel was added at the east end.[3] The chancel was removed in the 17th century, the chancel arch was filled in with a wall and a window was inserted.[2]

The plaster has been stripped from the interior side of the walls, and the floor has been partly removed and replaced by flagstones. South of the chancel arch is a small round-headed niche. The font is 19th-century.[2]

In the churchyard is the grave of Thomas Sopwith (1888–1989), the pioneer aviator, aircraft manufacturer and yachtsman.
