Leicestershire Round
The Leicestershire Round is a walking route of 102 miles making a circuit of the highlights of the Leicestershire countryside. It is not a boundary walk, but a broad tour of the county.
The route was devised by the Leicestershire Footpath Association to celebrate their centenary in 1987. It is wholly within the county, apart from a minor trespass into Rutland, encircling Leicester and running within easy reach of the county's market towns, Melton Mowbray, Loughborough, Hinckley and Lutterworth. It passes through some of the most beautiful and historically interesting parts of the county including Burrough Hill, Foxton Locks, High Cross, Bosworth battlefield and Charnwood Forest.
The route is waymarked throughout and a book describing the route is available.
