Fintry is a small village in Stirlingshire, nestled in the valley of the Endrick Water between the Campsie Fells and the Fintry Hills, some 19 miles north of Glasgow.
The centre of the village is along Main Street, which has been designated a Conservation Area. The 2011 census results report that Fintry and the surrounding rural area had a population of 717.
Parish church
Fintry's parish church stands to the east of the village. The parish minister for Fintry is shared with Balfron with the Manse located there.
About the village
There is but one pub in Fintry, The Fintry Inn. There is a village hall too, The Menzies Hall.
The village has a Sports Club which includes a 4-rink indoor bowling hall. The rugby pitches adjacent are home to Strathendrick Rugby Club. There is a separate lawn bowling club - Fintry Bowling Club.
There is a primary school in the village with a nursery class annex, but no secondary school, for which pupils are bussed to Balfron.
Nearby is Culcreuch Castle, now converted from its old military bearing into a hotel (and a popular wedding venue).
