East Orchard is a small village and parish in Dorset, in the Blackmore Vale in the north of the county, roughly midway between the hilltop town of Shaftesbury and the riverside town of Sturminster Newton. East Orchard is separated from neighbouring West Orchard by a small stream.
In 2013 the estimated population of the civil parish was 100.
It is not certain whether East and West Orchard are mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086: The Orchard ("Horcerd") listed[1] is more likely to refer to "Orchard" near Church Knowle on the Isle of Purbeck.[2]
