Dun Law is found amongst the Lowther Hills. It rises to 2,216 feet in the south of Lanarkshire.

The hill has a name found elsewhere in the Southern Uplands. It is a tautological name, from the Old Welsh (and Old English) dun and Old English hlaw, both meaning "hill".
