Chorleywood House Estate is a Local Nature Reserve of 159 acres in Chorleywood in the south-west of Hertfordshire. It is owned and managed by the local council.[1]
The River Chess runs through the estate which has formal parkland, meadows and mature woodland.
The public bridleway running through the estate forms part of the Hertfordshire Border Walk.
Conservation
The estate was designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2007.
Protected species include coralroot bittercress. Chorleywood Dell is a key neutral grassland site in the Biodiversity Action Plan for Hertfordshire. The gardens surround the 200-year-old manor house and summer house.[2]
