Campton is a village in Bedfordshire, sharing a civil parish ('Campton and Chicksands') with neighbouring Chicksands.
Campton is about nine miles south of Bedford, and is about nine miles northwest of Letchworth and stands on the banks of a tributary of the River Ivel. It is just to the west of Shefford.
Chicksands is to the north of the village, and consists almost entirely of the wooded Chicksands Priory estate. It was used as an American military base until 1995 and is now used as the British Intelligence and Security Centre (since 1997).
Parish church
The parish church in the centre of the village is All Saints, a beautiful 13th century church.
The church contains the Osborne Memorials and the grave of the poet Robert Bloomfield.
