Barras is a hamlet close to the River Belah, about four miles south-east of Brough, in Westmorland. It sits at the eastern edge of the county.

Barras's former railway station

The hamlet stands at approximately 1,100 feet above sea level.

From 1861 until 1962, Barras was served by Barras railway station on the Stainmore railway line between Kirkby Stephen East and Barnard Castle.
