The Ayrshire Coastal Path is a coastal long-distance hiking path in Ayrshire. The county is 55 miles long, but its curved coastline measures 84 miles. Adding several detours to historic locations, the Ayrshire Coastal Path runs for 100 miles.

The scenic trail runs along the coast from Glenapp, Ballantrae to Skelmorlie.[1] South of Glenapp, the route links to the Mull of Galloway Trail to Stranraer.[1][2]

Stages

  • Stage 1: Glenapp Kirk to Ballantrae: 8.3 miles
  • Stage 2: Ballantrae to Lendalfoot: 6.5 miles
  • Stage 3: Lendalfoot to Girvan: 6.5 miles
  • Stage 4: Girvan to Maidens: 8.1 miles
  • Stage 5: Maidens to Dunure: 6.2 miles
  • Stage 6: Dunure to Ayr: 8.9 miles
  • Stage 7: Ayr to Troon Harbour: 7.8 miles
  • Stage 8: Troon Harbour to Irvine: 6 miles
  • Stage 9: Irvine to Ardrossan: 10.8 miles
  • Stage 10: Ardrossan to Portencross: 6.5 miles
  • Stage 11: Portencross to Largs: 7.2 miles
  • Stage 12: Largs to Kelly Burn: 9.3 miles
