Bradford-on-Avon

Bradford-on-Avon is a town in western Wiltshire, whose canal, historic buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants make it popular with tourists.

The Avon is bridged here by a Mediæval stone bridge with a bridge chapel, later used as the town lock-up. There are several buildings dating to the 17th century, but the historical jewel of Bradford-on-Avon is the Church of St Laurence, a small Anglo-Saxon church and a very rare example of such a church almost unchanged from that age.
