Macduff's Castle and the Wemyss Caves

Wemyss is a parish on the south shore of the county of Fife, encompassing West Wemyss, Coaltown of Wemyss, East Wemyss, Buckhaven and Methil. It derives its name from the Celtic Wamh meaning "cave", a number of which may be found in the rocks on the seashore. The parish is bounded by Markinch to the north, Scoonie to the north-east and Kirkcaldy and Dysart to the west.
