Maescar is an extensive parish in Brecknockshire, to the west of Brecon. It is bounded to the east by Trallong and Glyn Tarrell, south by Ystradfellte, west by Cray and Llywel and north by Llangammarch.

The villages of Defynnog and Sennybridge lie in the parish. There are around ten round cairns and notable standing stones within the parish, dating back to the Iron Age.
