Portsoy is a small coastal town in Banffshire. It is known for:

  • local jewellery made from "Portsoy marble" (which is not marble, but rather serpentine)
  • locally milled oatmeal, sold around the world
  • Scottish Traditional Boat Festival which is worth over £4 million to the local economy.[1][2]
  • two historical harbours

The community also has a pottery, whose ceramics are noted for their delicate colouring.
