Maescar is an extensive civil community in Brecknockshire, to the west of Brecon. It is bounded to the east by Trallong and Glyn Tarrell, south by Ystradfellte, west by Cray and Llywel and north by Llangammarch.
The villages of Defynnog and Sennybridge lie in the community. There are around ten round cairns and notable standing stones dating back to the Iron Age.
