The River Blackwater flows through two counties, Hampshire and Wiltshire, and forms the border between them for a few miles. It is a tributary of the River Test.
The river rises just to the east of the Wiltshire village of Redlynch, near Salisbury. It then flows east, forming the county border with Hampshire by Sherfield English (Hampshire) and between West Wellow and East Wellow (Wiltshire and Hampshire respectively). Below the Wellows the river enters Hampshire and flows on to Wigley before joining the Test between Totton and Redbridge.
