Shortlanesend is a village in Cornwall two miles north of Truro. The village has a pub, the Old Plough Inn, and a post office and school.

The name was recorded as Penfounder in 1547: Pen Vownder is Cornish for "Lane end".

Just to the north-west is a hamlet named Allet with which Shortlanesend shares a civil parish ("Shortlanesend and Allet")
