Kilmorack is a parish in northern Inverness-shire, 11 miles south-west of the county town, Inverness. It contains the village of Beauly and extends some 35 miles to the south-west along the left bank of the Rivers Beauly and Glass into Glen Affric. It is bounded on the south by the parishes of Kirkhill and Kiltarlity and Convinth; on the north and west by the Ross-shire parishes of Urray, Lochalsh, Kintail and on the west, by the parish of Glenshiel also of Ross-shire.
The term ‘’Kill-Mhorac’’ signifies "the burial-ground of young Marion", but it is uncertain to whom this refers. It seems most likely she was a descendant of one of the lairds of Chisholm, who long before the Reformation, was the principal resident heritor in the parish.
The old parish church is situated a few miles from the eastern boundary on the A831 road and is now the home of the Kilmorack Gallery, a commercial fine art gallery.
